6. Whether current OS will support target HANA DB upgrade version or OS update required?

When upgrading HANA DB, We might come to the discussion on the below.

Everyone will refer below note as first step for guidance.

Note 2235581 - HANA Supported OS vers91

This tick is just to provide full meaning of the confusing line.

Example:

Assume, Our current HANA DB version is HANA 2.0 SP70 Rev X.

Our Planned target version is SP79 Rev X.

Our current version of OS is SuSE Linux 15 SP3.

Our Query - SAP HANA 2.0 SP 79 is supported by SUSE Linux 15 SP3 or not?

Note 2235581 Info - SUSE Linux 15 SP3 (HANA 2.0 SPS05, SPS06 and SPS07, starting with revision 55, revision 60 and revision 70)

Here, Starting with Rev 070 indicates - Entire Version from 070 till 079.

Hence, 079.X supported for SUSE Linux 15 SP3 without any issues.

✨ This condition applies in general for all OS categories. 

Also, It's irrespective of Rev Version as well.
