7. How to run SUM CISI ?- Quick procedures with easy ticks

Too much of information is good for nothing. When we pinpoint and take required ones, we will get the solution ASAP.

This tick is regarding SUM CISI (Correction of Installed Software Information) in which all Basis persons would have run definitely atleast once.

Everyone would have noted down below resolution from Note 3198770 to remove Wrongly/Outdated/Must be deleted Installed Product Versions.

1) We can use the CISI file to update the 'Installed Product Version:

   Note 1816146 - SUM CISI information vers20

   Note 2287046 - Generating System Info XML and Upload in Maintenance Planner vers39

     "Deselect - Allow automatic MP feature/Detection".

💫 It will also reflect automatically for the Original System in Maintenance Planner during next LMDB Auto Sync if Solution Manager/Frun LMDB SYNC is used.

However, we might feel unsteady/confused to perform the same due to multiple suggestions/wide info provided from Note/blogs.

Below is the simple procedure (2 checkpoints) which we can follow to perform the removal/change of Product versions.

Example: 

Consider, I have manually removed/uninstalled EWM Software components. EWM Product version won't be deleted/removed by default. It should be removed via Stack XML SUM CISI or during next upgrade stack xml. It's a default behavior in which removing software components via SAINT won't delete Product versions usually.

Steps:

Check Point 1:

1) Create SysINFO.xml from SPAM - Utilities - Generate System INFO XML.

2) Add duplicate system manually in Maintenance Planner (example SID_TEST). It won't touch/relate our original SID system available in Maintenance Planner

     Add System - Select/Upload using SysINFO.xml

3) Once System Added, Select System SID_TEST and Go to Verify in menu page.

4) Enable Expert Options in Personalize Menu and edit the system.

5) Delete (X) Product Version "Example - SAP Extended Warehouse Management 9.4"

6) Move further and save the transaction. Download CISI file.

Check Point 2:

1) Download SUM and RUN SUM with downloaded CISI Stack File.

2) Just proceed with SUM procedure accordingly and complete SUM.

3) Post completion of SUM, Product Version EWM will be removed as expected.

Note:

It will also reflect automatically for the Original System SID in Maintenance Planner during next LMDB Auto Sync if Solution Manager/Frun LMDB SYNC is used.   

If manual addition only used, we can delete original SID in MP -> Regenerate SysINFO.XML -> Add newly in MP now with SID Original name itself.
